Open Development Roadmap
December 5, 2024
Dear Community,
The release of our tech demo Preface: Undiscovered World marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey we are eager to embark on together. From the very beginning, we have been committed to embracing open development, and we are thrilled to share our roadmap with you. This is an opportunity to bring you closer to our mission, highlight the progress we have made, and provide glimpse into the future direction of our projects.
With the 0.1.0 release of Preface: Undiscovered World, our goal is to showcase the unique ability of our technology, Melba, which can handle planet-scale environments. It allows its users to seamlessly discover a vast world. At this stage, Preface: Undiscovered World serves as a tech demo focused on understanding how our technology performs in the hands of the users, helping to inform our future development efforts.
For 2025 our priority is on showcasing technology rather than achieving high user satisfaction, retention, or visual fidelity. Features serve to validate our technology, not the other way around. Crashes and noticeable bugs are expected as we refine our tools to identify and address issues. We go further into depth on this in our Preface: Undiscovered World launch community letter.
Preface: Undiscovered World will serve as a testing ground for features supporting Prologue: Go Wayback!, the studio’s upcoming survival game, future games, and project Artemis development. Immediate issues will be addressed through initial hotfixes, while new features will be released every second milestone (MS12, MS14 and MS16. These milestones align roughly with the months of April, July, and October 2025 respectively).
